Luca Mazzella

Luca Mazzella graduated in Civil Engineering, specializing in Structural Engineering, at the University of Pavia in 2018.

He collaborated with the EUCENTRE Foundation in Pavia regarding the construction of two unreinforced masonry specimens and their subsequent vibration table testing. The second specimen was built using a retrofit technique involving Strongbacks (timber beams providing out-of-plane support to the structure) and OSB panels (timber panels providing in-plane support to the structure). He was also in charge of the characterization tests regarding these experimental campaigns.

He is currently collaborating with Sismica360 as part of a project concerning the risk induced by gas extraction from onshore fields in the Groningen region of the Netherlands, specifically on the seismic evaluation of unreinforced masonry buildings. He also contributed to the design of a reinforced concrete tank for the treatment and recovery of organic waste.
