Alessandro Galasco, PhD
Alessandro Galasco, as structural consultant for Sismica360, has been involved in various projects, regarding the design of retrofit interventions for improving the seismic response of structures, studies of seismic and static vulnerability and diagnostic investigations on existing unreinforced masonry buildings.
He graduated with honors from the University of Genova (Italy), where he obtained a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering. As a post-doc researcher at the University of Pavia he collaborated with the EUCENTRE Foundation of Pavia.
Dr. Alessandro Galasco is the developer of an analysis software for masonry structures, called Tremuri, widely used in Italian as well as numerous universities throughout the world, which allows to assess the seismic response of unreinforced masonry structures by means of linear and nonlinear static and dynamic analyses, in particular pushover and nonlinear time-history analyses (Lagomarsino et al., 2013; Penna et al., 2014).
He is also a consultant for S.T.A. Data S.r.l. for the development of 3Muri (a software whose calculation engine is Tremuri), also used for the analysis and structural verification of masonry structures, according to Eurocode 8, to the Italian, Greek and Dutch Building Codes.
He is the author of several scientific publications and also imparts specialist training in professional associations.
