Martina Mandirola

Martina Mandirola graduated in Civil and Structural Engineering at the University of Pavia in 2010. In 2014 she obtained the Master of Science in Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology at the ROSE School of the University Institute for Superior Studies of Pavia (IUSS).

Currently, she is a researcher at the Department of Emergency Support of the Eucentre Foundation where she works on the development of tools for rapid response to catastrophes. In particular, she specialises in the use of drones for the inspection and mapping of damage to structures and infrastructures. Her research interests also include the development of numerical models for the nonlinear analysis of masonry buildings. She has been involved in large-scale laboratory testing of masonry structures. She is the author/co-author of scientific publications.

Martina has participated in reconnaissance missions of the Italian Department of Civil Protection to the areas hit by the 2012 Emilia Romagna and the 2016-2017 Central Italy earthquake sequences, for the post-event damage and usability assessment of public buildings and architectural heritage structures (e.g. churches).
