Alessandro Desimoni
Alessandro Desimoni graduated with honours in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Genoa and continued his training through the attendance of numerous courses for professional engineers.
Since 2003 he has been active as a freelance structural engineer. His expertise lies in the seismic design and nonlinear analysis of steel, reinforced concrete and composite SRC structures. Over the last years, he has been working on the seismic vulnerability of existing reinforced concrete buildings, gaining experience on topics ranging from in-situ inspections to structural assessment, employing linear and nonlinear analysis methods.
Also, he has been giving lectures at the university, and he has been teaching courses to professional engineers on the seismic response analysis of steel, concrete and composite SRC structures, using numerical finite element methods (FEM). Since 2006, he has been a member of the Structures Division committee of the Order of Engineers in the Province of Alessandria, which he coordinates since 2013.
Alessandro Desimoni collaborates with Sismica360, providing consultancy on the seismic vulnerability of existing reinforced concrete buildings and the numerical analysis of structures.
